  • 4 min read

Menopause is a natural phase in a woman's life, but it often brings a whirlwind of physical and emotional changes. Many women find themselves feeling isolated during this period, unsure of how to cope with the range of symptoms they experience. But what if you didn't have to face this alone? This October, we invite you to join our Fall Series, "Mapping Menopause: It's Functional!," where you can connect with other women in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Understanding Menopause: The Statistics

Did you know that about 1.3 million women in the U.S. enter menopause each year? By age 51, a majority of women will have gone through this transition, which can last anywhere from six months to ten years. Common symptoms include hot flashes, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and weight gain. Some women experience perimenopausal symptoms as early as their mid-thirties. This becomes even more challenging as their symptoms are not generally thought of as perimeno-related, but rather attributed to a host of other things... Cue symptoms chasing!

It's time to STOP CHASING SYMPTOMS and START OPTIMIZING SYMPTOMS!

Many women feel unprepared and unsupported during menopause. Our Fall Series aims to change that by offering science-based information and practical tools to help you navigate this journey with confidence.

Course Objectives: What You Will Learn

Our "Mapping Menopause" series has several key objectives aimed at empowering you:

  1. Understanding Menopause: Learn what menopause entails, including its stages and symptoms, so you know what to expect.

  2. Managing Symptoms: Discover practical strategies to cope with hot flashes, mood fluctuations, and challenges with sleep.

  3. Nutrition and Wellness: Explore how simple dietary changes can positively influence your menopause experience. For instance, incorporating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon and walnuts, can help reduce inflammation.

  4. Emotional Support: Unpack the emotional dimensions of menopause and learn how to foster resilience and effective self-care strategies.

  5. Community Connection: Build lasting connections with other women who share similar experiences and challenges. Studies have shown that social support can reduce stress and improve emotional well-being during significant life transitions.

  6. Map Your Menopause: You will learn how to use the Patient Preparedness Packet, which includes a body systems map you will learn to complete, making your doctor visits more productive.

By the end of the series, you will not only have actionable insights and feel empowered to advocate for yourself, but you will also gain a supportive network of women who understand your journey. This is not the end of your youth, it's the beginning of your transformation into what you were always meant to be... STRONG, EMPOWERED, BEAUTIFUL, and CONFIDENT!

The Benefits of Learning in a Small Group Setting

The small group format of our Fall Series has several advantages:

  • Personalized Attention: With fewer participants, you will receive tailored guidance from our health coach, allowing for a deeper understanding of your concerns.

  • Safe and Supportive Space: Our sessions create a welcoming environment where women can candidly share and discuss experiences without fear of judgment.

  • Shared Experiences: Learning alongside others facing similar challenges is validating. You’ll find comfort in recognizing that you're not alone on this path.

  • Networking Opportunities: Forming relationships with other women can lead to friendships and support systems that extend far beyond the course.

Testimonials: Real Women, Real Transformations

Don't just take our word for it! Here are testimonials from women who have participated in previous sessions:

Science-Based Information and Practical Tools

Our Fall Series is firmly rooted in science, ensuring you receive reliable and accurate guidance. You will learn about:

  • Hormonal Changes: Grasp how hormonal shifts during menopause affect your body systems. For instance, estrogen is cardio-protective, and drops in estrogen can increase a woman's risk of heart attack or stroke.

  • Lifestyle Modifications: Discover practical tips for improving your diet, optimizing sleep, incorporating regular physical activity, and stress management techniques that can alleviate symptoms.

  • Sexual Considerations: Learn how fluctuations in hormones can affect your sex drive, your vaginal microbiome, and your pelvic floor, and what to do about it.

  • Mindfulness Techniques: Explore mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing and meditation, which can help manage emotional fluctuations.

  • Resources for Continued Learning: Access additional resources and readings to further your education beyond the course.
